Your Council, Your Voice - Get Online and Have Your Say From November 14

RESIDENTS can help shape the future of the Borough by joining a major online survey – and stand a chance of winning an iPad 2.

Charnwood Borough Council is launching its ‘Your Council, Your Voice’ consultation to gauge residents’ satisfaction with Council services and to find out what people think the Council’s spending priorities should be.

The results of the consultation will be analysed and used to help shape the Council’s Corporate Plan – the document which will determine the direction of the Council over the next four years.

The consultation will be hosted online from November 14 – December 31 but a series of public roadshows will roll into towns and villages throughout the borough between November 21 and December 9 to give people without internet access the opportunity to take part.

Councillor David Slater, Charnwood Borough Council’s Leader, said: “We take pride in putting our customers first and we sincerely want to hear what residents think about us and our services.

“To maximise participation we have secured the donation of an iPad 2 from our leisure centre partner Fusion Lifestyle to encourage people to take part.

“The prize aside, I hope people take this opportunity to make their voices heard and play a real part in helping to shape the future of our communities.”

There will be 23 roadshow events which will kick off in Syston on November 21st.

As well as the iPad 2 offer, every participant will receive a free day pass to any of Charnwood’s three leisure centres - Loughborough, Soar Valley in Mountsorrel or South Charnwood in Syston.

The new Corporate Plan and vision for the future of Charnwood will be published in April 2012.

To take part in the survey, visit Charnwood Borough Council’s homepage at www.charnwood.gov.uk and follow the front page link after November 14th.

Residents who do not own computers can take part in the survey at Charnwood Borough Council’s reception computers or, if you are a member, your local library.
