Loughborough Market Needs Your Votes

Loughborough Market

SHOPPERS are being urged to show their support for Loughborough Market by voting it for Market of the Year.

The Charnwood Borough Council-operated market needs people to get online before December 31, 2011, and vote for Loughborough in the Best Street Market category.

The awards are being co-ordinated by The National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA).

Councillor Paul Harley, Charnwood Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture, said: “Loughborough Market is one of our borough’s treasures and for centuries has served the people of Charnwood and beyond.

“This is your chance to help recognise its importance to the local economy and for helping put food on plates and clothes on backs!

“It takes a matter of seconds to log on to the NABMA website, click on the vote link and vote for Loughborough so please, help us get the market nationally recognised.”

Loughborough Market is no stranger to accolades having won the National Market Traders’ Federation’s ‘How Green is Your Market’ award in 2010 after judges heard how every scrap of waste produced by the town’s traders is recycled.

To vote for Loughborough, go to this link and type “Loughborough” http://www.nabma.com/vote.
