The Green Deal: A Workshop for Private Rental Landlords
As the largest national housing refurbishment scheme since the end of the Second World War, the Green Deal will have a big impact on the private rental market in the UK. From October 2012, landlords will have access to up to £10K of energy efficiency improvements for their properties at no upfront cost which landlords and tenants will be able to request.
The Green Deal will also mean that:
- From April 2016 private landlords will be unable to refuse a reasonable request from a tenant for consent to energy efficiency improvements under the Green Deal
- From April 2018 it will be unlawful for a landlord to rent out a residential or business premise that does not reach a minimum energy efficiency standard of Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating 'E'.
Charnwood Borough Council is running a FREE workshop on 2nd February to inform landlords of their opportunities and responsibilities with the Green Deal It will cover:
- Getting a Green Deal Plan and Finance
