Bust Some Moves – Without Breaking the Bank This Half-Term Holiday

YOUNG performers can get their creative juices flowing at exciting theatre and dance workshops as part of Charnwood Borough Council’s half-term holiday activity bonanza.

The Council’s Sport and Active Recreation Team is for the first time offering the workshops, run by a professional instructor, during its activity programme from Monday, February 13 until Friday, February 17.

The half-term holiday activity programme is designed to help take the pressure of parents while helping young people banish the winter blues – without breaking the bank.

For young children activities include a pirate treasure hunt, cooking & den building, while older children can have a go at kurling, geocaching, horse riding, circus skills.

The programme also sees the return of the extremely popular multi-sports session at Cobden Primary School.

Councillor David Snartt, Charnwood Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “This is about the best line-up of activities for young people you will find in Charnwood this half-term.

“Whether you have little ones who love to get their hands dirty or older kids who like to create and compete, there is something for everyone.

“The Council loves to help residents get active so please take advantage of this amazing half-term holiday programme. Best thing of all is that it doesn’t cost much.”

For a full list of activities, to get a hard copy of the brochure or to book, visit www.charnwood.gov.uk/pages/holidayprogrammes or call the Council’s leisure team on 01509 634673 between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday only.

Wild Card holders will be entitled to discounts at all activities. Wild cards are free if you receive free school meals and, until March 31, 2012, are only £1.50 if you live in Charnwood Borough.
