Make Sport Your Business at the Corporate Sports Tournament 2012

WORKPLACES across Charnwood are being invited to stop fielding e-mails and reaching for stationery in order to battle it out in the Active Together 2012 sports tournament this March.

If you’re a football fanatic or have a talent for rounders then Charnwood Borough Council is offering the chance for you and your colleagues to shine.

Teams from Concentrix and 3M were crowned champions in 2011 so tension is rising for to see if they can defend their titles. The tournaments will take place at Rawlins Community College in Quorn, March 11 from 9am – 1:30pm.

Councillor David Snartt, the Council’s Cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “This is a great chance for Charnwood workplaces to do some team-building and to socialise with staff from other local companies and organisations.

“Active Together, a programme run by the Council, is committed to working with local workplaces to improve the health of their employees and I’m sure this will be a very enjoyable event for everyone.”

Football teams, which should be same sex, can be composed of between six and nine players and for rounders the teams can be mixed and have between nine and fifteen players.

Entry for either event costs £30 per team and the deadline for entries is February 29, 2012. Organisations and businesses can enter as many teams as they like.
