MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

To be able to vote at elections and make your voice heard, you must be on the Electoral Register.

Each year the council carries out a canvass to revise the electoral register, however due to the timing of the Police and Crime Commissioner Elections which will be taking place on the 15th November 2012,  this year’s annual canvass has been brought forward and the register will be published on the 16th October instead of the usual publication date of the 1st December.

Forms will be delivered to householders in Charnwood during July.   You can register for the address where you are resident on the qualifying date of 15th October 2012, however if you know that you will be resident at the property on the qualifying date then you do not have to wait until that date to return your form it can be returned as soon as you have received it.  You can also register by phone or via the intranet - **see note below.

Registering is easy - all you have to do is complete and return the Electoral Registration form that will be delivered through your letter box – it only takes a minute.  If the details on the form are correct, you can even confirm this on-line, by phone or by text message.

So as to ensure you don’t miss out on the chance to vote, and to help the council save money please complete and return the annual canvass registration form as soon as you can.

If you do not receive a form, or want to find out further details about electoral registration, please contact the Council’s Electoral Registration helpline (01509) 632593, (01509) 632594, or (01509) 632595
