Digital Planning Guide to Help Customers

A NEW digital planning guide has been produced by Charnwood Borough Council to help customers better understand the technical world of planning applications.

Visitors to the Council's planning section of its website, www.charnwood.gov.uk, will be able to virtually flick through pages, zoom in on specific areas and view and print the guide in any way they want.

The digital publication includes information about planning applications, building control and explains the ins and outs of the sometimes complex world of local authority planning.

Councillor Matthew Blain, Charnwood Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning, said: “We’re delighted to offer this publication as part of our ongoing improvements to customer service in the planning department.

“The publication is designed to help people understand the procedures and decision-making involved in planning applications and explain the work of our Building Control Team.

“This digital publication means we can continue our commitment to protecting the environment by reducing our carbon footprint.

"I’d like to thank my colleague, Councillor Eric Vardy, who has driven this project from the start. It shows the excellent contribution that cabinet support members can and do make to the quality of our council work.”
